For powders, check particle size distribution, moisture and dispersibility; for liquids and resins, check viscosity, solid content and storage stability. Then confirm how a batch can be traced back if a deviation appears in your process.

Paperwork
Document requirements differ by market and by product. Confirm the set you need in writing during the enquiry stage, so that nothing is requested after the shipment has left.
Describes the specification of the product: the fields and the typical values used to judge whether the material fits your process. Ask for the version that matches the grade you intend to order.
Covers identification, hazards, handling, storage, transport classification and emergency measures. Your warehouse and your freight forwarder usually need it before the shipment is booked.
Reports the measured result of the batch actually delivered. Keep it with your incoming inspection record so a downstream deviation can be traced back to a batch.
State the package count, the net and gross weight and the description used for customs. The product description on these documents should match the material you ordered.
Where your market requires a declaration of conformity to environmental or chemical requirements, request it during the enquiry. Bona Materials states compliance with international environmental standards including ROHS and REACH.
Depending on the Incoterm and the mode of shipping, additional transport documents or insurance certificates are issued. Confirm who arranges them and who bears the cost under the agreed Incoterm.

Packaging is published per product: ferrocene is supplied as 25 kg per bag or cardboard drum, antioxidant DPPD in 20 kg plastic-lined woven bags, and amorphous boron powder vacuum packed in 0.5 kg aluminium foil bags. Customised packaging and volume requirements can be discussed for bulk orders.

The technical specification is also published on the product pages, covering purity, particle size, moisture and appearance. Tell us which documents your quality system needs and we will confirm what can be supplied with the order.
Ferrocene is supplied in powder and crystal form, both at a content of 98.5% or higher, with free iron controlled at 200 ppm or below for powder. Amorphous boron powder is industrial grade with total boron content of 95% or higher, D50 particle size of 1.0 micron or below and moisture of 0.5% or below. Antioxidant DPPD is supplied as grey or light brown powder with an initial melting point of 125 degrees Celsius or higher. The published shelf life for these products is 12 months.
